A GRANDMOTHER REMEMBERS: My Son's Mission Call

My oldest son received his mission call on Friday, February 18, 2011. He will be serving in the Washington Tacoma Mission. He reports to the MTC (Missionary Training Center) on April 20. I am making up announce- ments (using his senior picture, too bad it isn't a white shirt!) to send to friends and family. It will have his address and the date of a farewell dinner.  I am so proud to be this wonderful young man's mother! He truly blesses my life and pray he will be able to bless many others while he is on his mission.

  1. What a wonderful, life changing adventure your family is about to go on. I'm so happy for you all. And Tacoma Washington would be a perfect place to serve.

  3. Yes, it is!!
We were trying to decide on the weather -- I said cold, cold. Hubby things the ocean would keep it warmer???? It is like a rainforest there???
I was thinking I should buy him a wool suit.
We do hear it is BEAUTIFUL!!
But, how is the weather?? :o)

  4. spring is beautiful. summer in the 70's and 80's with about 2 weeks in the 90's. fall drizzly. winter cold (40's) rainy, might snow twice. the biggest thing to get used to is the drizzling instead of a real rainstorm. there are some areas of rainforest, he'll have to check out point defiance park on one of his p-days. Mount Rainier is also within the mission. Hope this helps. If you have more questions my e-mail is hayes.wendy@comcast.net
